Technological Advances in ESE - Unit
II : Emirates Steel Establishment (Unit
II) was established in 2004 as a feeder
unit for Gulf Steel Industries Co. Ltd.
The success of the unit- I resulted in the
establishment of a second more technologically
advanced unit with an installed capacity
of 40,000 TPA. Ingot casting as in Unit
1 has been replaced by Continuous Casting
Concast and a Spectrometer added for chemical
analysis. These improvements delivered better
yield and superior cast structure, and also
ensured better quality control.
Unlike Ingot Casting, Concast enables the
unit to cast fixed length billets thereby
reducing waste to very low levels at Rolling
Mill. Superior Concast Technology ensures
excellent Cast structure.
